On August 16, 2012, JAC-Navistar jointly hold technical seminar in Beijing. The assistant of JAC general manager Mr. Li Ming, Navistar China President Mr. Wan Ruyi and technical experts from China Association of Internal Combustion Engine, China Automobile Association, Environmental Protection Department of Motor Vehicle Pollution Control Center, Tsinghua University and Beijing Institute of Technology, and China Auto News, Sina and other 14 media have deeply communication on MaxxForce engine technology roadmap and performance of JAC completed vehicle equipped with Maxxforce engine.
In the end of June of this year, JAC and Navistar joint venture production diesel engine project was officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, which indicated the process of JAC and Navistar joint venture has entering into the actual preparation stage. It laid a solid foundation for JAC engine technical innovation and commercial vehicle business expanded.
In the conference, Professor Mr. Lei Lin of Navistar China R&D Inspector Group gave a introduction of Navistar engine technology's development history and latest progress, and technology advantages of Navistar in the field of engine. She mentioned that Navistar provides combination of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) engine emission techniques though ICT+ Emission solution which can satisfy the EPA 2010 emission standard and China relevant laws and regulations formulated by the discharge standard, and also enable company reaches America Green House Emission (GHG) standard of 2014 and 2017 in advanced.
The vice president of Navistar China products& technology R&D Center Mr. Yan Jingde introduced that the joint venture engine plant will be first put into producing 3.2L、4.8L and 7.2L three models engine which all have obtained Euro V Emission Authentication and manufactured in Brazil which can totally satisfy Chinese market emission requirement. Meanwhile, Navistar plans to introduce ICT+ which is in line with EPA 2010 Emission Standard timing to realize the joint venture company overseas markets expansion.
The head of JAC R&D Center Commercial Vehicle Institution Mr. Wei Zhongliang introduced completed vehicle equipments application situation to technique experts. In 2011, July, after equipped with Maxxforce engine, JAC gave an evaluation of completed vehicle dynamic and economic which performance excellent. In Frigid Zone adaptability test, the completed vehicle can well set up fire in -30℃ and now is in the testing working conditions of Summer Standardization (high temperature plateau). Judging from onsite feedback, JAC vehicle with Maxxforce engine has outstanding performance.
In the period of conference, experts expressed their confidence to Maxxforce engine's technology roadmap adapting different markets in domestic and overseas and several of emission regulation standards, and gave affirmation and admiration to Navistar engines’ innovation and advantages in field of technologies.
Besides, experts pointed that JAC vehicle with Maxxforce engine will have a great improvement in term of quality. Compared with before, the dynamic, fuel economic will be more competitive and loading capacity and road conditions adaptation will be better than before. The era of JAC- Maxxforce is a new time of significantly enhancing the overall competitiveness of the vehicles. It’s worth looking forward to its coming.
